Our board of directors serves to govern and advise in our efforts to support research and community health programs including education, screening, and treatment programs.

Dr. Sonny Acho
Dr. Acho is the Senior Pastor of Living Hope Bible Fellowship Church, a multicultural ministry located in North Dallas. He is also the founder and president of Living Hope Christian Ministries. A highly respect mental health professional, Dr. Acho also maintains a private practice in Dallas, where he ministers to a broader community of believers and non-believers. He has published two books, “Picking up the Pieces” (Crossway) in 1996 by Crossway Publishers and “If You Only Knew” (Moody) in 2003. Dr. Acho has been married for 29 years to Christie and together they have four children, Chi-Chi, Stephanie, Sam, and Emmanuel.

Mrs. Christie Acho
Mrs. Acho is a board certified family nurse practitioner in the DFW metroplex. She has a passion for helping people and co-founded Living Hope Christian Ministries with her husband, Dr. Sonny Acho. When in Nigeria doing medical mission work, she focuses on preventative care for residents. Christie Acho maintains a home health agency in Dallas, where she excels in providing quality care for the elderly and those who need medical attention. She is the first lady of Living Hope Bible Fellowship Church in North Dallas and leads the ladies fellowship at the church.

Mr. Sam Acho
Before making his mark in the NFL in 2011, Sam Acho had an outstanding career at the University of Texas as a starting defensive end for the Longhorns. While at the University of Texas, he earned a double bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the McCombs School of Business Honors program. Every summer, Mr. Acho joins his family on LHCM’s medical mission trip to rural communities in Nigeria. Along with his family, Acho has spearheaded a campaign to raise money for the building of a much-needed hospital in Nigeria.

Ms. C. Stephanie Acho
Ms. Acho is a graduate of Syracuse University in the college of Human Ecology with a degree in Hospitality and Food Service Management and minor in Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises through the Whitman College of Business. After completing her MBA in Strategic Management and an MS in Hospitality Management at the University of North Texas, Ms. Acho is now pursuing a PhD in Hospitality Administration at Texas Tech University.

Dr. Michael Brooks
Dr. Brooks is a practicing surgeon in Fort Worth, Texas and a graduate of Howard University College of Medicine. Since the early 2000s, Dr. Brooks had made yearly trips to Africa with Living Hope Christian Ministries to perform life changing surgery at no cost. He is dedicated to helping those who otherwise could not help themselves and is a vital part of the LHCM Operation Hope team.

Dr. Shade Lester
Dr. Lester is in private practice at Harmony Family HealthCare in Plano, Texas. She currently has hospital privileges at the Medical Center of Plano. She is licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners and certified by the American Board of Family Practice. She has been practicing since 2002. She and her husband, Ron, have three children.

Dr. Daniel M. Gold
Dr. Gold has been caring for the eyes of East Texas since 1988. He is a graduate of the University of California and received his medical training at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He has served on approximately 30 foreign mission trips with LHCM and other ministries in Africa, Asia, East Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Mr. Ade Otenaike
Mr. Otenaike is the President of Wings of the Dawn International institute for Children (WoD). He has a deep passion for serving the children of Africa to further advance sustainable literacy project in rural and sub-urban African communities. Ade has over 20 years experience as an independent consultant working with several government agencies and private corporations in business development, project management, and application development.
